Announcement – Website domain change

Hi y’all, there have been a lot of legislative changes around the world that make it harder for this blog to keep operating as is. Age verification requirements keep being introduced in different countries and it would be cost prohibitive for a small site like mine to use most of those services. The other option is I just start blocking IP addresses from certain countries which isn’t great, either., as that currently includes much of the US, the UK, Australia and (soon) the EU. I don’t have the money or the power to fight any of this.

I think I’ve found a solution, though, in retreating behind the wall of Google’s blogger. I’m going to try to transfer this domain to a Blogger account in the next few days and set it up to auto redirect. I’m not an expert at this but I think it will result in the bodyswapfiction.com/enter page ceasing to work and you will need to go to the homepage bodyswapfiction.com.

You will have to log in with a Google account, which has age verification, in order to view the site. I don’t like it either but it’s the only way I can continue to put out captions. Of course, this means I’m at the mercy of Google.

If this all goes haywire, I will be available at bodyswapstories.com so look for any updates there. You can also sometimes find me on Reddit and DeviantArt (softcore only)

UPDATE: The other option is that this becomes a text only site, which seems to avoid the regulations.

UPDATE: I’m pausing the move for the time being and we’ll see how things shape up.

  1. Unfortunately this censorship will only get worse as we stumble headlong into a dystopia that even George Orwell would have flinched at.

  2. I think what you’ve suggested – the blogspot move – makes the most sense, even though I can see its not popular. Text only as a way to avoid it would be a travesty.

  3. I don’t want to use my Google account to visit NSFW sites. It’s just not safe. And I can’t create a new one easily either. It’s sad to see good sites like this one “disappear”, so please reconsider and try to find other alternatives that do not require a login

    1. I get it, and I don’t like these new laws either. But, playing devil’s advocate for a minute, you have to give over certain info in order to buy my books so what do you see as the difference between the two? Genuine question.

      1. not everyone here buy books because it cant be private… some of us lurk for the free content and would support you if there was a truely private way to send cash or something.

  4. What bugs me is that the laws will not work.
If people want to find stuff without signing in they will do.
Instead of making people safer, they will do the opposite as people go to the dark web.

I love your posts and thank you for them, but I will not be signing in to view these.

    1. I’ll keep posting to Reddit and DeviantArt, at least for now, but they don’t have the searching, tagging, organising and side link tools that are the benefits of wordpress and blogger.

  5. I understand this is hard decision and there are no perfect answers. But I think I speak for a lot of us **in this community** who want to continue our anonymity and not be tracked by Google of all things to enjoy reading your site. I think for those that live in those regions with censorship issues can easily take the extra VPN step to keep their anonymity. Please reconsider.

    1. I guess it comes down to whether I’ll lose more readers by switching to Blogger or by blocking the US, the UK, the EU, Australia and whichever other countries enact laws.
Or…I become a text only site.
For now I’ll still continue to put captions on Reddit.

      1. You could make an active blog on IPFS or I2P. For now, that’s the only thing I can think of if you want to keep your content available without stupid restrictions. Using IPFS and I2P is very easy, and even though the networks are still growing, they’re already solid enough to host a static blog that you can update whenever you want. Plus, it doesn’t cost anything.

        1. Interesting idea but I don’t think I’m technical enough for it (I don’t really understand it!) and then how would anyone find the site?

          1. It’s very easy to create the blog on IPFS, and it’s no longer that difficult to access it through a gateway. In fact, I recommend that you research well how to do it, because it’s not as complicated as it seems anymore. Just download and activate your node and look into tools like Publii so you can create your blog on IPFS.

  6. Blogger is awful and requires an account last i checked. It’s been cool reading your works but peace out.

      1. and this reponse is why its going to happen… fight it and it has a chance of being pushed back simply comply and well good by anonimity

        1. Much as I’d love to, I don’t make enough money to fight any government on it. I’ll leave that to Pornhub and others.

  7. Have you considered blocking IP addresses and having a blogger? Would allow access through VPN and you can keep your website in case something happens with Google.

    1. It seems I’d be blocking most of the english speaking world at the way things are going! Blogger is what just about every caption site uses these days so it seems to be the default standard.
