Life after

“You’re looking well,” your former body says as it sits at the table across from you.
“I’m doing well,” you reply, stirring your soup and looking up at your former body with a gorgeous smile.
Every few months since the Great Shift you meet up with the woman in your former body. Just to keep in touch. At first it was just to trade medical history and help each other out. Sort of like being an owner’s manual for your body. Later, it became a matter of curiosity. What had she done in your body? To your body?
You’re somewhere between family and acquaintances. After all, she’s seen more of your body than anyone else besides you, and vice versa.
You don’t tell each other everything. Left unsaid are the more…intimate details of what you’ve been doing. In those frantic first months after the Shift you thoroughly explored yourself, taking full advantage of your unfettered access to the perfect body that was now yours. Your new tits were incredible. Your new body was sensitive in different places. It took you some time to discover how to touch yourself and it was, frankly, disconcerting at first watching from behind a stranger’s eyes as a stranger’s hands touched her body and you could feel it.
“Is that a nose ring?” She asks in astonishment.
“Yeah,” you say.
You see her disapproval but you’ve both come to an agreement that you can’t criticize the other for their choices. This is your body now, and you can do what you want with it. That’s life after the Great Shift.
