\u201cTo\nbe honest, I was worried about size differential in the subjects.\u201d\nShe gave a sheepish grin, then stood and began packing away the\nmachine in a supply closet. \u201cAnd you\u2019re the tallest person I\nknow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will\nsat and let the information percolate for a moment. 24 hours. A\nsingle day. He could do one day. Swiping away the last trace of his\ntears, he said, \u201cOk, what do I need to know? What do I have to do\nnext?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou\nalready know it: you have my memories.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\nprodded the recesses of his mind\u2014her mind?\u2014and realized she was\nright. Her memories were there, a little foggy but still readable: a\nblueprint for her life and schedule. His voice still a little shaky,\nhe said, \u201cYou\u2019ve got a free period.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes,\u201d\nMrs. K confirmed. \u201cAnd just the one class left today: 12th grade\nchem after lunch. That gives you over an hour to prepare. Review my\nclass notes, acquaint yourself with the memories and the lesson plan.\nYou\u2019ll do fine. Just take a breath and\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\nwas interrupted by the bell, and Will suddenly realized that his ass\nwas supposed to be heading to Mr Trent\u2019s modern history class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs\nK locked the closet and slipped the key into her pocket. She shot him\na reassuring smile. \u201cIt\u2019s ok. I\u2019ve got this: history and then\necon. Then meet your mom at the mall after school: shopping for\ngraduation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will\nwinced, hating that Mrs. King knew he still let his mom take him\nclothes shopping. And suddenly hating that she\u2019d probably have\naccess to all his other private thoughts. Hating, too, the picture\nhis memories probably presented: a lanky, friendless loser who spent\nhis every waking hour studying. And, oh god, he’d masturbated to\nthoughts of her once or twice.
