Cole is a brilliant young inventor. Too brilliant, really, though his best friend, Dominic, has become adept at translating his high-minded concepts into everyday English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ever since Cole’s last invention nearly destroyed the house, Cole’s parents forbade him from working on anything else. So they have no idea that he’s come up with a brand new invention in the basement that can clone a person’s entire mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Cole’s sister, Callie, discovers his invention and threatens to tell their parents, Cole makes a split second decision and zaps a copy of Dominic’s mind into Callie’s body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now Dominic has gone from stumpy to sexy, a clone of his mind inhabiting Callie’s incredible body while his original self looks on longingly. While Cole tries to find a way to restore his sister’s mind, the new Callie has to pretend that everything is normal, even though she has none of the original’s memories. But she finds being a woman isn’t so bad. Particularly when her new body is smoking<\/em> hot, and incredibly<\/em> sensitive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe she shouldn’t go back to her dumpy old self just yet. Not when she’s enjoying this body so<\/em> much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And Callie’s friends are so<\/em> hot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And Cole’s invention is so<\/em> easy to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIs it booting up now?\u201d Cole asked from where he crouched behind the basement sofa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dominic stopped restlessly spinning around in the worn office chair and glanced at the computer monitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYeah, that did it,\u201d Dominic replied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cole rose and brushed the dust and cobwebs off his hands. As the computer booted up, he took off his thick rimmed glasses and tried to clean them on his shirt. But, since his shirt was as filthy as the rest of him, it just moved the smudges around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dominic pushed himself back in the office chair so that it rolled across the concrete floor of the basement and came to rest just against the stairs leading up to the house. He spun himself around a few times, idly, before leaning the chair back and walking his feet as far up the wall as he could form his seated position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJesus, Cole, why did you have to cannibalize your game console to do this?\u201d Dominic said, stifling a yawn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy parents won\u2019t buy me the necessary components after the little accident with my last invention,\u201d Cole replied, leaning over the keyboard and typing in some commands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018little accident\u2019 was an electrical overload that fried the fuse box and cause thirty thousand dollars\u2019 worth of damage to his parents\u2019 house. Cole\u2019s parents had come home to find the fire department handling the mess while Cole and Dominic stood outside watching. Cole\u2019s parents had forbid him from any more of his science experiments after that, which was why all of Cole\u2019s equipment was pushed to the corner of the basement with a handy tarp ready to pull over to hide the whole thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou know,\u201d Dominic said, patting his tubby stomach rhythmically. \u201cYou could get what is known as a \u2018job\u2019 and buy it yourself. Maybe even move out of your parents\u2019 basement?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd live with two annoying roommates like you do?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe could get a place together. Then I would only have one<\/em> annoying roommate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAh, that would be me, would it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou really are<\/em> a genius,\u201d Dominic grinned, spinning around in his chair again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI promise you this will be much better than any game console,\u201d Cole said, as the computer beeped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dominic snorted doubtfully and heaved himself out of his seat to stand over Cole\u2019s shoulder. \u201cWhat is it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The computer was scrounged together from spare parts and Cole\u2019s previously awesome gaming console. It connected via a thick bundle of wires to the butchered game console controller. The whole thing was badly duct taped and soldered together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a mind swapping device,\u201d Cole said, distracted as he frowned and typed in some more commands. \u201cIf I can get this stupid AI to do what I want it to do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA mind swapping device?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes. A device that can swap minds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGreat. Thank you for the clarification,\u201d Dominic sighed. \u201cYou think it will work?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI know it will work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what you say every time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the words of one George Michael, you gotta have faith.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dominic picked up the controller connected to the computer. It was much heavier now that Cole had attached a big block to the underside of it that held what amounted to a second computer. Dominic tapped some of the buttons and a green laser pointer flickered across the far wall. Dominic turned the controller around to look at where the laser had come from and Cole grabbed the controller from his hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCareful with that,\u201d Cole said. \u201cIt could explode.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was impossible to tell if Cole was joking or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cole continued typing for a few seconds, then: \u201cI need to load someone\u2019s mind into this thing. Give me your head.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat? No. Use your own head.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m concerned that there will be a capacity mismatch between my intellect and the specifications to which I constructed this array.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAre you saying your genius is too big to be contained in that computer?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s another way of putting it, yes. It won\u2019t hurt. Just come here and stand still.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dominic sighed and dutifully went to stand next to Cole. Cole picked up the remote control and aimed the sensor at Dominic\u2019s head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReady?\u201d Cole asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a low, soft whump<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWill it hurt?\u201d Dominic said, shutting his eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know. Did<\/em> it hurt?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Dominic opened his eyes Cole was looking at the monitor, where a complicated-looking program displayed several wavelengths and a bewildering chart of numbers that Dominic couldn\u2019t make sense of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes!\u201d Cole nodded with satisfaction. He turned to Dominic and pointed at the monitor. \u201cThat\u2019s you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dominic peered at it. \u201cThat\u2019s me?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSort of. It\u2019s an exact copy of your conscious cortex activity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo\u2026my brain is in that computer?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what I just said.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow did you get everything so quickly and without any\u2026I don\u2019t know\u2026surgery or anything?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI could explain it to you but the risk of the knowledge exploding your head is too great.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Again, it was impossible to tell if Cole was joking or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDoes that mean that there\u2019s a \u2018me\u2019 in the computer?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cole shook his head. \u201cNo. This is just data. It needs to be mapped on to an existing brain architecture through the judicious use of the zapping appendage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo translated into normie speak, that means you need to target someone with that modified remote control to transfer that copy of my brain into theirs?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPrecisely. You should help me with the marketing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFirst thing I\u2019m doing is changing the name of \u2018zapping appendage\u2019. Sounds too porn-y.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat about insertion generator?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe penetrator?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow you\u2019re just fucking with me.\u201d \u201cYeah.\u201d Cole cracked a smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
