Summer was a good season for David (formerly 49, now 26). It meant he didn’t have to huddle inside his house with the heat cranked up and his hands over his ears to try to drown out the sounds of his wife and neighbor. He could actually go outside and enjoy the sunlight on his transformed skin. Just out into his backyard. He didn’t go out in public these days. Not since the Stranger came.
David had got off relatively lucky in that he could still control his body. Mostly. Also, it wasn’t his body.
