Through Other Eyes explored Robinson’s fascination with the nature of self and the freedom of being seen as someone else. Using the then-nascent body swap technology, Robinson invited any visitor in the gallery to swap bodies with her for three minutes. Visitors in Robinson’s body would have free reign to do what they wanted. The gallery contained a wardrobe that held a variety of outfits visitors could use to dress her up, and a couch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sensual outfits allowed visitors to explore Robinson’s body and borrow her sexuality. With the other gallery visitors as witnesses, users of Robinson’s body were both subject and object, explorer and explored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This still image shows a common occurrence as a visitor, usually male, pleasured themselves with Robinson’s body. Note how they keep a hand on their face in disbelief at how it feels, while their other hand sweeps tentatively across their new sex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robinson remained still in their body, watching what they did as her. Many enjoyed the control, taunting Robinson with her own body or doing lewd things to themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
