“Put the device down,” Bryce growled, trying to sound as intimidating as he could from within the petite body he inhabited.
“What are you going to do?” Emily asked with a sneer on Bryce’s former face. “Kill me? You’ll be stuck in my body.”
“I will if I have to,” Bryce said, one hand going to his hip.
In the month since Emily had swapped bodies with him to infiltrate the Agency, he’d become accustomed to Emily’s body, sliding unconsciously into her mannerisms as if from some sort of muscle memory.
His colleagues at the Agency didn’t believe him, so he’d been forced to team up with an unlikely ally: a wise cracking recruit he’d recently rejected from the field team. Together, they’d investigated on their own, one step behind Emily as she infiltrated the Agency, stole the secret information, and prepared to blackmail the entire city.
Bryce and his wise-cracking sidekick had grown to trust each other, fallen in love, even had sex. That was an experience.
