“Come on, come on,” Jason mumbled to himself. “There’s got to be another book somewhere in here that could help.”
Jason had been researching deep in the bowels of the university library when he stumbled upon an ancient book. It seemed out of place. The pages were tattered, the binding loose.
He’d made a small “Hmmm?” when he found it, which cause the only other person in there with him – a slender brunette – to look up and shush him with a scowl.
As Jason flipped through the book he realized it was full of magic spells. He was going to laugh it off but there was one for attraction. He looked at the woman on the other side of the stack and recited the spell.
The change was immediate. She dropped her pencil and gazed up at him. She swallowed, then traced her tongue lightly around her lips. She seemed to debate with herself whether to approach him or not and in the end she hurried over, shy but hungry for him.
That wasn’t enough for Jason. There was another spell that would allow him to take her and he recited that one.
